The Girl Inside

How could you tell if she was in pain?
She showed no signs of despair.
But the pain soaked through her skin,
and it started to eat away at her soul.
Would she make it without cracking?
Could she hide the hurt inside her?
She tried to remain strong,
but how would she last?

The constant teasing from the boys,
caused her confidence to die.
She was confused, growing up was hard.

she even questioned her faith.
She had always been a good girl,
but now times were getting tough.
How would she make it through,
when she was all she had?

Then one day, she met a boy,
who understood her pain.
He made her feel important,
she had never felt this way.
Slowly he helped her rebuild,
her life so she would be happy.
His words meant so much to her,
even more than anyone's had before.

So as her life changed for the better,
she thought of him each day.
So even when they parted ways,
he was always in her heart.
How could she ever forget,
